The College Student Council – School of Arts and Sciences (CSC-SAS) launched a new Facebook page and refined its official logo on the evening of June 1, 2025. The announcement was made through their previous Facebook account, where they shared a link to the new page alongside Resolution No. 01, Series of 2025: A Resolution Calling for the Approval of the Rebranding of the Official Facebook Page and the Refinement of the College Student Council – School of Arts and Sciences (CSC-SAS) Official Logo.

The action has since drawn mixed reactions from students.

Shortly after the announcement, the Angelite Freedom Wall on Facebook featured mixed reactions. While some posts did not name any specific college student council, it was presumed to be CSC-SAS, as they were the only council to have launched a new Facebook page. Criticisms included questions about what exactly was changed in the logo, how the rebranding benefits the student body, and whether the change was necessary at all.

In response, some anonymous users on the same platform urged critics to voice their concerns directly to the CSC-SAS rather than through anonymous public posts.

The Nexus reached out to the CSC-SAS regarding this matter, to which the council responded by providing a formal press release.

According to the statement, the decision to rebrand was mutually agreed upon by both the current and previous council members.

They cited technical issues with the old Facebook page that prevented them from implementing security protocols, responding promptly to students, and fully managing the platform. As a result, the council emphasized that creating a new page was necessary for efficiency, consistency, and long-term functionality.

At present, the old CSC-SAS Facebook page has 4,081 followers, while the new page has merely 435. However, they did not address how they plan to recover the previous audience, particularly the reason for this rebranding was made to improve their ability to communicate with all of the students effectively, as they specified.

As for the logo, the CSC-SAS acknowledged that the changes were modest but symbolized a renewed focus. They described themselves as “evolving, grounded in its values, but unafraid to adapt for the betterment of the community it serves.”

“We hear you. We acknowledge you. We listen to you,” the council emphasized in their statement. They pointed out that they are open to feedback and constructive criticisms, encouraging students to use proper channels—such as the new official page so that concerns can be properly tracked and addressed.

Lastly, the CSC-SAS reminded students to keep discussions respectful and solution-oriented. They expressed gratitude for the student body’s engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to better serve the SAS community.
